The objectives of the trip are to drill a shallow-water well, teach hygiene, encourage the villagers, and work with God in a way that is totally different from what you experience in North America. For four days, the team will work on the well or facilitate hygiene training. We attempt to drill a shallow-water well using a mud rotary hydraulic rig or an air drilling rig (depending on the location). The hygiene team provides hygiene education, teaches Bible lessons, and plays with the kids. Usually the team finishes on the fourth day of drilling, and then enjoys the well-dedication ceremony. It is truly a life changing experience.
Nicaragua is a small country that sits between the Caribbean Sea and the North Pacific Ocean, between Costa Rica and Honduras. As the largest country in Central America; it also contains the largest freshwater lake, Lago de Nicaragua. The country has a population of 6.1 million and depends heavily on agricultural and manufacturing industries. Many Nicaraguan families lean on foreign remittances, where family members in the US send funds home.

Living Water International (www.water.cc) exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience "living water"—the gospel of Jesus Christ—which alone satisfies the deepest thirst.
