Teams participate by serving in one of the 11 villages where MoH partners with the local Haitian churches. As MoH works with the local church Pastors & Village Champions in each village, they are asking them, “What does your village need to be transformed?” In seeking to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the villages, two primary strategies have been developed to reach every man, woman, and child - Strategic Village Time and Church Advancement Projects. Our team will join in those efforts.
Despite the tropical climate, friendly hospitality and plentiful fruit, Haiti is known as one of the poorest countries in the world. It is estimated that 80% of the population lives in poverty, earning an annual income of roughly $1,200 per person, and all face serious daily challenges. The country has a history of natural disasters, which continually threaten the culture. The 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010, has critically injured an already struggling society. Leaving thousands dead and thousands more homeless and helpless, the disaster requires a significant response. Our mission team can positively affect the people in Haiti as you share the Gospel, meet practical needs and encourage the believers there.
