John 6:22-36

Sermon Response

THE BREAD OF LIFE

The Text: Read John 6:22-36

Discuss:

  1. Jesus says that the work of God is to believe in the one God has sent. What does it mean to believe in Jesus?

  2. Why do you think the people asked Jesus to perform another sign for them? Why was the feeding of the 5000 the day before not enough?

  3. When Jesus says I AM the bread of Life. What does that mean?

  4. In vs 36 Jesus says, “I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.” How could someone see Jesus and still not believe in him?

Respond:

The Sermon of the Bread of Life has one purpose, Jesus is drawing the line in the sand. He is dividing fans from followers.

Questions:

  1. What are the primary differences between fans and followers?

  2. Why does Jesus care so much about people being followers rather than fans?

  1. In our culture do you think there are more fans or followers?

  2. How do you grow to be a better follower of Jesus?

Prayer

God help us believe in Jesus in such a way as to rearrange our whole lives. Let us follow your commands and live like Jesus as we seek to love and follow Him.
