Sermon Response September 18, 2017

The Text: Read

  • Colossians 3:16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

  • James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

    Discuss:

  1. What are the main differences between “Teaching” and “Admonishing”?

  2. What are some examples in Scripture of a person growing in Christ through the relationship they have with another follower?

  3. What are biblical areas in which a person needs to grow to look more like Christ?

Respond:

  1. Who are the people in your life that can tell you NO, and you will listen?

  2. Give an example of a person in your life that you can say is clearly responsible for a season of growth in your walk with the Lord?

  3. Do you desire to grow spiritually? If you are not currently growing what do you think is holding you back?

4. Is there someone you know that could be a mentor or pastor in your life? How can you start to develop a relationship with them?

Prayer

God show each of us our need for men and women that will push us and help us look more like your Son Jesus. May we constantly strive for growth and may you give us the grace to live each day for you glory.
